Eternal Wait - Ensiferum

Over the Forgotten sea
Voice of angel is calling for me
Somewhere, where the mountains collide
That's where I'll find my new life

I have carried this burden so long for you
that nothing but sorrow I feel
I have let myself believe
that nothing would hurt deeper than the truth

Never has the wind blown like thousand years ago
Everything that I've known has left me on my own
Never have I felt the rain fall down like the burning flames
All I see is the face of eternal wait

I hear your silent cry
lost in the rainy night
No reason to live for
one reason to die for

I am the one who has fallen into the path of shadows
(and that road never seems to end)
I am the one who has drowned into the river of tears

Further thoughts on the 2nd Leg of the UCL semis..

A few after thoughts to the previous post.... unfortunately, the English club will have to face repercussions for the post-match antics of some of it's players. While I totally sympathize with Chelsea fans (being one of them myself) , it'll be unfortunate that Drogba might face penal action. Ballack too, for his part, had a shot in the last minute handled by Eto'o inside the penalty area, and this was one of the four or five penalty decisions waved down by the referee. Now Tom Ovrebo - he's had experience of 205 matches under his belt in the Norwegian League, and Wednesday's clash was his 7th UCL duty of the year. Was he the best qualified to take up the reins at a Champions League Semi Finals?? Chelsea will obviously not think so. And added to this the fact, that Ovrebo has already been bogged down by conspiracies, and the fact that he'll officiate the finals in next year's World Cup - is enough for any neutral pundit to raise his hands in the air in exasperation.

This said, my respect for the Englishmen in the Chelsea team
increased tremendously in the way they handled themselves in the post match hysteria. While both fans and a few players alike were totally agitated by the Norwegian referee's decisions, Lampard, Terry and Cole, though equally agitated, managed to keep their cool on the pitch. Does it go to show the strength of an English footballer? Probably. But they deserve an ovation for amazing sportsmanship. Especially Terry who later went down to Barcelona's dressing room to congratulate them personally.

Obviously, the Chelsea players will stick together in this situation to come through without any major scandals... Both Hiddink and Terry have already stated that they support Drogba. Although the chance of a repeat final of last year ( where Chelsea lost on penalties to ManU ), a feat that has never been achieved in the Champions League, might have slipped through their fingers, Chelsea will have to be content with the prospective FA Cup final on 30th of May against Everton.

3. Messi was kept quiet for the most part by the splendid Chelsea defense (in pic: captain John Terry)
4. Guus Hiddink can't believe some of the decisions.
5. Lampard looks at the heavens to find solace.
6. Barca fans are ecstatic. Rome, here we come.

UCL Semi-Final Che-Bar 2nd leg....A disgrace??

Ohhh, it was heart-breaking, was it not. As a fan of both the great teams involved in the mouth-watering clash, I was absolutely stunned by the way the events unfolded. Chelsea played a game that was simply fabulous. Barcelona, after Essien's amazing early goal, looked a little out of sorts, allowed the pace of the game to be decided by Chelsea. In general, I feel both the teams are strong enough, but yesterday Chelsea showed us why they are a world class team. This said, they were extremely unlucky to go through to Rome. How is it that of all the penalty appeals, not even one was given? I felt at least one or maybe even two of them deserved a second glance. The near-sightedness of the referee Ovrebo regarding Pique's handball was inexcusable. I mean, this is a UCL semi-final, for chrissake. And that too in Stamford Bridge itself. Drogba, and all the Chelsea players in general were probably right to feel let down by Tom's decisions, given the high intensity of the game and their free-flowing emotions after a near-faultless display on the pitch. Well..whether the game was 'ugly' as commented by others, or not - full credit to Chelsea, and Barca to some extent - and a dream final awaits against Manchester United. Chelsea, my heart bleeds.

The Introduction

Aaah...finally, my first post in this blog. And also, probably my first ever post which might be (1)entirely original, and (2) doesn't require me to use heavy literature or try and influence the readers to ponder about the deeper meaning of life and our reasons of existence :P ( lol - refer to my other blogs, ladies and gentlement, for this slight confusion to clear) ... considering that in my two other blogs, I've posted the lyrics of some great songs, according to me, of course, and tried my hand at a little prose and poetry.

The reason for setting up this blog was very simple. Each of our lives, yours and mine included, is unique ( err... don't roll your eyes yet, at this obvious fact ). No matter how DULL people might say a person's life might be,or how dull he might consider his own life to be, as long as he took the time to find a little amusement in his surroundings, looked at his life through some colored goggles, i should say - find something funny in the events unfolding around him - his perception of his life can change! ( hmmmm all right, you can roll your eyes NOW ).

Well, I'm not gonna sit here and pretend MY life is perfect, and precisely for this reason, this blog!

Let me firstly be clear on the name of the blog. A vernier callipers is a device which is used to measure teeny weeny lengths and distances. Well - DISTANCES is a very heavy word, because a vernier callipers has the least count of the tenth of a millimeter. So anyways, here I go, then, and yeah as always, feel free to comment :P

Remenissions - Avenged Sevenfold

With this ink in our skin we've sealed our fate,
And the axe comes early
(Only naturally) So what does that matter?
There's a bed of skeletons waitin' for me,
On the other side
They're waiting for my next move (Next fatal breath)
Human lives to me seem so unreal, you can't see
Through the fog
(Nothing past the grey wall) see past the stereotype
Belief, structure built up in you
I'll tear you down, and the One who created you

If they didn't have One how would they act?
If we didn't have hope how would we behave?
Would they still feel remorse
If they slaughtered innocent beings?
Or is hope the only thing that keeps you sane?

A good friend once told me you are memory
Without them we equal nothing
And all I can see is the place I wanna be
Suddenly my life was so free
Leaves at my feet, blown to the ground
Their echoes are reaching my ears
Nights coming fast, suns going down
But keep away from me.. keep away from me[x4]

(It's hard to keep me in this place, keep away from me)

We may have created the beginning, mentally
We may have created the beginning, physically
To the end of our human existence..

I see through you
The fear that's in your eyes

A good friend once told me we are memory
Without them we equal nothing
And all I can see is the place I wanna be
Timeless, my life was so free
Leaves at my feet, blown to the ground
Their echoes are reaching my ears
Nights coming fast, suns going down - confused
I don't know the answers, but neither do you
